A WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome to the website of Groves Christian College, Kingston.
I would like to introduce the College to you and recommend it
as an attractive schooling option for families of the Brisbane
South, Logan and Beenleigh areas.
Named after the famous missionary statesman of yesteryear, Anthony
Norris Groves, the College commenced in 1999 as a second campus
of Mueller College, Rothwell. The college became legally and
financially independent of Mueller in 2001 - though close links
of fellowship and professional co-operation remain. Groves operates
over two campuses in Kingston; one in Laughlin Street and the
other in Velorum Drive. Laughlin Street is our main campus.
In 2006, Groves has grown to over 815 students from Preschool
to Year 12 in the Day School and over 800 students in our School
of Distance Education. Groves is a member of Christian Schools
Australia (CSA) and the Association of Independent Schools in
Queensland (AISQ). It has a non-denominational Christian ethos
and caters for children from a wide variety of Christian backgrounds
and traditions. It also caters for families who - though not
necessarily Christian themselves desire a Christian school culture
and educational experience for their children. All staff are
committed Christian people from various denominational backgrounds
selected for their professional competence as well their sense
of calling to the ministry of a Christian school.
I invite you to visit the College to see what is on offer, and
to discuss your children's schooling needs with us. We will
be happy to be of whatever help we can, and would welcome the
opportunity to show you around the College. Turn left from the
in-bound lanes of Kingston Road at the Woolworths Servo and
find us in the cul-de-sac at the end of Laughlin Street.
Yours sincerely,
Terrence McCorkell
Principal
